School Attendance
We hold good attendance in very high regard at Crwys. Assuring a high level of attendance is important for your child’s education and in recent years, the school has consistently recorded one of the highest attendances of all Swansea schools. While we should all feel very proud of this outstanding achievement, more importantly, we should celebrate the positive impact this has had on Crwys’ pupils.
Children should be made aware of the importance of regular attendance and punctuality. Below is your child’s attendance for the current academic year to date, as well as their attendance last year. A child’s success at school is likely to be affected negatively if their attendance is poor. Those who do not attend regularly may fall behind in their learning. Children and families have 175 days off school, including weekends and school holidays. For this reason, schools rightly prioritise attendance. Through the cooperation of parents and pupils, it’s possible to instil the values of good attendance.
The School Welfare Officer makes regular visits to the school to discuss attendance and he will visit the parents of any pupils who have an unacceptable level of attendance.
